50 Days in the Life of a Mid Life Business Mentee - Day 4

 A Nothing Day

Do you get days when nothing much seems to happen, where you feel like you’ve been busy but don’t have much to show for it?

Today is one of those days.

It’s one of those days that you find yourself getting drawn into something that you thought would take a few minutes but actually ends up taking a few hours.

I think I mentioned a couple of days ago that I had to close down one of my email accounts – well that was fairly straightforward and today I spent a little time trying to group those emails as they were before.

I also had to change my email address on things like my online banking, PayPal and my ICloud account which has accepted the change on every device but my laptop.  I then spent the last few hours trying to force it to accept the change.

I’ve now given up.

Aside from my computer woes I found myself spending an inappropriate amount of time trying to find the email containing my travel insurance in preparation for my travel to Rome tomorrow.

I did find it.

My mobile phone isn’t covered.

I bought mobile phone insurance.

On days like this it’s easy to tell oneself that you’re not making progress. But in my experience, it’s days like this where the magic is happening without you knowing. It’s where you leave the onions to sauté before you add the next ingredient and if we see it as that then we’re not so hard on ourselves.

So let’s not be too hard on ourselves eh.
