WOW Go Live in 5 Challenge - Day 4

I did my first outside live broadcast today.

I thought it would be hard. And it was, but not for the reasons I thought.

I thought I would find it hard to stand on the South Bank, outside the Royal Festival Hall, with my back to the Millennium Bridge and the River Thames to my left. I thought I would find it hard to stand there, talking at my telephone, looking a little foolish maybe.

But I looked around me and people were just doing their thing.

It was a sunny day. Mild, and we Londoners were making the most of it. After all, today might be our summer.

There were those seated at tables, having their lunch, and others standing by the railings, watching the boats on the river. Three people in their twenties; 2 ladies and a young man, were strolling along the banks of the Thames.

I didn’t know you could do that.

I’m not sure I’d want to.

A couple of people walked by, each engaged in their own telephone conversation.

And then there was me.

Talking to my phone.

Wondering if anyone was watching or listening. But doing my thing anyway. And after 30 seconds I didn’t care about anyone else. I had a task to do so I did it.

I thought it would be hard. And it was, but not for the reasons I thought.

It was hard because I didn’t have much to say about the subject and I wasn’t sure I could fill 10 minutes.

But I did.

And I was me.

And I was unapologetic.

Day 4 done.
