The Soundtrack to My Life No 4: My Way
Yesterday a two-year old video showed up as a memory on my Facebook timeline, and it struck me that sometimes we do something just for the sake of doing it and it impacts you in ways you never imagined.
For those of you that don’t know, it was the final day of a 50-day project where I challenged myself to do something I had never done before each day for 50 days. The original idea was to have a vehicle to create material for my blog, I didn’t know it was actually a project to get me moving out of my comfort zone. I didn’t know it was the beginning of a quest for visibility – not for attention, but to be seen even by myself, especially by myself.
With this video I poked my head out and then ran back in again because the road outside your comfort zone can be scary. The only trouble is once you’ve seen that road you can’t unsee it, you can’t go back to your old model of contentment because you know there’s more out there and you know you have to take that giant leap.
Do you have an urge to try something you’ve never done before – try it.
Or to go somewhere you’ve never been, (metaphorically or literally) – go.
Giant leaps begin with one step - so take it,
You never know where you’ll find yourself, but you will be transformed.
