OPS 2: Musicians Don't Retire!
Musicians don’t retire; they stop when there’s no more music in them.
The same can be said for writers who stop when there is no more writing in them or mothers who stop when there is no more mothering in them, or teachers who stop when there’s no more teaching in them, or plumbers who stop when there’s no more plumbering in them.
I’m going to assume that Louis Armstrong meant that being a musician isn’t about what you’re doing or what you’re being paid to do, instead it’s about who you are at a cellular level.
Many of us are operating at the level of what we must do to survive instead of what we need to do to be alive.
What’s your brand of ‘music’?
