18th February 2017: Day 30 - The Eyes Have It - Part 2

It was Day 12 that I decided I was going to say hello to people I met on the street – remember?

It’s one of a number of different activities I tried that has involved bringing me out of myself and more open to connecting with people I don’t know. I think that is the only day I haven’t achieved what I set out to do (so far).

Until today.

This morning I was going out to my mastermind group and feeling a bit low in energy, so as I walked to the train station I decided to say hello to 5 people whether they looked my way or not. My first was a bit of a challenge. She was standing on the corner and appeared to be waiting for someone. She also looked a bit p’ed off. I’m walking towards her

Should I?

Shouldn’t I?

Her head turns in my direction, but her eyes are turned to the floor. I’m a bit closer now,

Should I?

Shouldn’t I?

Maybe not, she looks a bit fierce. I’m crossing the road, nearly there

Should I?

Shouldn’t I?  She pulls out her phone. I’m there.

‘Good morning,’ I say.

‘Good morning,’ she says

And I walk on. As simple as that.

I make my way to the station and do the same with numbers 2,3,4 and 5.
